National Business Development Manager | Ireland

Job Title

National Business Development Manager, Brennan's Brewery

This role will be home based and  covering whole of Ireland

Main Purpose of Job:

To drive equity and profitable sale of Brennan’s brands and partner brands in a defined on trade territory, also to support Brennan’s brands and partners within the United Kingdom

Responsible for:

  • Developing On and Off Trade sectors Nationwide
  • Create partnerships within both On and Off Trade.
  • Develop Brand opportunities working within a Marketing budget 

Key Responsibilities/Main Duties:

  • Manage and develop a portfolio of on and off trade direct and indirect customers by ensuring profitable distribution of Brennan’s brands and associated brands.
  • Agree trade terms with customers within company policy and as appropriate to the scale of opportunity , ensuring the products are being sold  in line with brand guidelines and customers are adhering to the terms agreed, whilst maximizing profitability
  • Actively look to find new distribution opportunities for Brennan’s brands in appropriate profitable outlets
  • Ensure Brennan’s brands are represented in the best possible way and are featured in the most prominent locations in the outlet within marketing guidelines and budget constraints
  • Maintain an agreed level of call coverage, in line with business scale and opportunity to ensure correct balance of time allocated to service existing and prospecting new customers . Typically 35 calls per week
  • Support team mates in additional prospecting or marketing events in both on and off trade
  • Maintain accurate and up to date records of customer contacts and discussions and share with the business where relevant
  • Responsible for ensuring customers pay promptly and do not surpass agreed credit limits, aiding the credit control function as required to enforce policy.
  • Ensure customers are fully aware of the Brennan’s Brew Co service offering and help relevant functions deliver on this service, and if necessary manage the customers in areas of conflict to keep Brennan’s costs down. Includes service promise, forecasting any unusual orders and providing adequate lead times
  • Report as required to the business regarding performance  and key variances
  • Keep all administration up to date , including expenses, emails etc
  • Participate in projects as the need arises    

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Selling, negotiation, presentation, basic financial knowledge, Excel/Email/Powerpoint
  • 3 years experience in a customer facing and selling environment
  • Full drivers license

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to drive to and enter and exit customer premises, on occasion carrying laptop or products.

Travel Requirements:

  • Regular driving  from home/office/territory as required in the IRELAND, UK  and Channel Isles , Occasional overnight stays
